I paid off the smaller of my two student loans with $5,455.18. I dumped $6,000 on the remaining larger one. These two transactions brought my cash down. (The $6,000 came straight from my business checking account as a distribution of profits. I have an S-Corp.)

Hi, Dough Digger:
This is John Keilman, a reporter at the Chicago Tribune. I’m interested in doing a story about people who blog about debt, and I happened across your site earlier today. I thought I’d see whether you would like to be interviewed, and if so, whether you’d be willing to have your name in the paper. We normally can’t offer people anonymity, so I figured I should ask up front.
Anyway, thanks for your consideration. Good luck with your finances!
John
